wow...some people are dumb...

I was just on IGN.com ( a relatively popular sometimes informative entertainment website, that reviews video games and movies and what not) and I had just read a review on Super Mario Galaxy. Now the game isn't out yet I believe it's coming out on November 12. I had nothing better to do (well that's a lie I should've been doing some work that's due on Saturday) so I started reading the comments about the review. OH MY GOD! some people are so stupid...

Out of context of course some of the comments were supporting the game (which I would like to play, but in all honesty I wouldn't go on a limb and just buy it, I'd either use a gift certificate or recieve it as a gift, I must save my money to buy Fire Emblem) and some well were not.

Don't get me wrong I appreciate people's opinions I really do. If they don't like the game that's fine. I'm not going to sit there and make them tell me 20 different reasons why they don't like the game. There are games I don't enjoy, and some games I enjoy alot.

First off I'll start by saying to people who complain about scores.

I know the score can make or break a game...but the game got a 9.7 out of 10 so I don't know why everyone's got their panties in a bunch that it didn't get a 10. In my personal opinion no game deserves a 10 because no game is perfect they all have flaws and usually something will be done really well, but there's always something that could've been done better.

Plus the game isn't even out yet and if it makes you feel any better just rate it yourself when you finish it, what can you do?

Secondly to everyone who hates the Wii sorely for the reason it's to 'kiddy'

Okay from an industry stand point let me say 2 words.

Target Market

Do you want to know why the majority of Wii games for a younger audience? Because that's where they make their money. Playstation and XBOX, yes they are both great systems, yes they have games that (sometimes) appeal to everyone, BUT most of those games have a T or M rating slapped on to them. Nintendo targets the E rating whenever it can.

Truthfully there's not that many childrens games for the XBOX360. Same with PS3 as much as I love that system I can pretty much say there's really no game on that system I would let any child under 14 play.

Nintendo has developed themselves around appealing to a younger audience. That's why a majority of the games on it are placed under 'Kiddy department', BUT if you've had care to browse among the many games the Wii has to offer you would notice there are some games that don't fit under that catergory. I highly doubt any person in there right mind would consider Resident Evil 4 a kids game...or how about Manhunt 2? the game that barely escaped a rating of AO (Adult only 18+) and the object of the game is to pretty much kill everything and everything in the most gruesome and twisted way? Call of duty 4? Metroid prime 3 isn't exactly a kids game either. I could go on, but unfortunately I have a life.

I just don't understand why people have to bash consoles like they do. It's not like telling nintendo the Wii sucks, or Sony thatPS3 sucks, or Microsoft that XBOX360 sucks, will make them stop manufacturing them, nor will it make people stop buying them.

GET OVER AND ACCEPT IT!

It's immature, and you're not proving anything by doing it. Frankly people will argue with you, but in reality no one will give a FUCK about what you have to say.

Dadedoodadah!

I am currently playing Phantom Hourglass...it's sexy. I also am in class and we are presenting level concepts. Alex, the boy presenting is going to make a custom car...it's going to be a duck! I can't wait to try his level.

Okay anyway I'm not sure what I'm going to write about. I guess I'll write about my obsession with Psychonauts. I love that game SOOOO much! It's fantastic. Though when I played it today the lip synching was out of whack. It might just be the playstation though, it's quite old, almost 6 years. It was mine but I gave it to my friend for Christmas. I only have it back temporarily, but I'm quite happy to have it back even if it's temporary. Just until I get my PS3 which will hopefully soon. I'm so hoping that maybe ONE DAY they will make a sequel to Psychonauts. That would be sooooo awesome! Especially if it was for a next gen console (I would so buy a XBOX360 just to play that game.)

I'm just waiting for our schools Multiplayers club to start. I can't wait to try Halo 3. I've heard good and bad things, but you know until I play it I'M the one who shall judge if it's good or not (for me anyway)

If I had money and room I would buy a 360...but I don't.

OH I almost forgot! SONIC HAS BEEN CONFIRMED FOR SSBB!! I'm so excite! SONIC WILL NEVER DIE!! (only his really bad games!) Well technically I can't say anything cause I haven't played any of the 3D sonic games (well I played the racing one and I actually liked it), just the genesis ones.

Well Phantom hourglass isn't exactly out yet, but it will be mine. It took me forever, but I finally found all the Nintendo based game, Screw those awful CD-I games cause no one even knows they exist anymore. Besides the original games are the ones that truly matter to me.

I've also decided that I WILL one day get Final Fantasy XI mainly cause I now know people who play it. I can't get it right now....well....because I can't afford 12 dollars a month to keep my subscription.

I made my friend play Resident Evil 4, I think she hates me now :D She doesn't like shooter Zombie/alien games. However I made up for it, I bought her The Lord of the Rings: The third Age for her birthday last month, and I finally gave it to her. She sent me a nice long Message on facebook saying how much she loves it. That made me feel good. Giving does feel nice...if I had money I would probably give more...

yeah my computer kind of killed itself, I'm still not sure what's wrong with it, but it's been taken to my IT guy to get fixed, hopefully he'll be able to fix it without destroying my hard drive. I'm prepared for anything though, thank god for my External hard drive I pretty much saved my entire computer hard drive in that little contraption, and boy am I glad I did. There are still some things I wouldn't like to lose on my comps hard drive though...but

3rd wheel? Awkward? Dumb? it's all right here. MY FIRST EMO RANT! YAY!

You ever feel like a third wheel? Even when your not going out with another couple? It's almost like not wearing underwear and you put your pants on. It's awkward. I know I feel like that a lot, when I'm with large groups of people, and I'm not talking to anyone, or if I am talking to them I feel ignorant or different. I guess that's why it's a good thing to have a Nintendo DS, it takes your mind off of that shit. Besides that I kind of feel like I'm not fitting in, I feel as though I have some sort of learning disorder that makes me retain information that's just not important, or I just interpreted it wrong. What it comes down to is this...

I FEEL STUPID!

Then it doesn't help when the people who are your 'friends' complete that sense of shitty self-esteem for thinking that it would be grand to make a fool out of you in front of everyone. Maybe that's why I feel I can't trust people...or I feel like I know what their doing, but if I confront them they'll get offended and start being a bitch. I'm not singling anyone out by the way, if you read this and think that this is partially your fault...it probably is. SO if anyone actually reads this and I don't know you, you probably haven't done anything. HOWEVER if I know you...I expect cookies and hugs as an apology <= That's me not caring about sounding like an egotistical ass at the moment. I need to rant so fucking deal with it. That's another thing it seems I'm not allowed to be stressed out, or sad, or angry, without someone else just up and trying to out do me by complaining about their problems as well. FUCKING GIVE IT A REST! the whole world doesn't need to know about your problems every time someone else tries to tell you about theirs, cause that;s all you do! When someone complains you feel it's your duty as the 'Feelings Nazi' to let them know how much more shittier your life is. They listen to your problems so stop being selfish and listen to theirs for once. Who knows, you might feel sympathetic, or you might have a good laugh at their stupidity.

I ALMOST got my hands on a copy of Bioshock as well. That failed too...

I have no luck with purchasing games that are too awesome for words.

Anyway I'm about to work with some Gnomon DVD's HUZZAH! They are dandy and I'm seriously considering ordering some. But they're so damn expensive, but hey in the long run I figure they are worth it.

Here's one of my models I did for my 4th quarter portfolio review. Because I love GIR I just had to model him. However his model has too many unnecessary polygons so I still have to fix it up before I post it on the artery forum. I'm hoping to do his robot form as well.

OMG Wii !!!!

Well the first week back at school was actually quite enjoyable. I saw many familiar and new faces and my classes are nothing short of awesome! I know in a couple I'll have a hard time, but it wouldn't be worth it if it was too easy now right?

I also picked up Resident evil 4 for the Wii a couple days ago. I was kind of iffy on it because I haven't played Resident evil before, but I'm so glad I did. The game is sooo wicked It's sooo weird I can't watch horror or slasher movies, but I can watch it in video games and cartoons and books and stuff like that. Resident Evil 4 is pretty gory when I think of it. It's also not as scary as I thought it would be, but I guess that's a good thing. The only things that really scared me so far was when I walked out of a house and I heard a chainsaw start. I was like "You got to be fucking kidding me!" I turned 180 and ran the other way, unfortunately the chainsaw guy was alot faster then the other crazy living zombie people and he kind of caught up and decapitated me. The other part was when I broke open a box to see if I could find health or ammo and I saw this weird green thing, it was a little late to realize it was a snake and I cursed pretty loud when it struck at Leon (main character dude) and scared the crap out of me. The ony hard part of the game for me really is the controls, they really pissed me off in the beginning, because aiming the gun is no problem, but when you want to aim for the dudes head or legs I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle with my nunchuk because you have to use that to make Leon's view go up on the screen. I've gotten used to it now though and I can't wait to finish this game So far if I had to give it a review rate I'd give it a 9/10.

Man I need a job bad, my mom is supposed to help me with my resume, to help me find one...but she is the one to tell me to get a job yet she procrastinates when it comes to my resume...go figure. Hopefully my School Schedule won't be too spread out, cause if I have more then 3 days of school I might have to wait till next semester which will suck because that means 3 months of torturing myself whenever I go to the mall (not glee...).

I also tried to find the old episodes of DarkStalkers, why you ask?

answer = cause I can, and my friend (who got me obsessed w/ the Street Fighter Udon comics and tv series (both Anime and *shudder* the American version) tells me good things about it. Also because when I do play or watch others play Capcom vs SNK or some game like that I always choose Morrigan and/or root for Morrigan cause she's sassy (unless she's up against Cammy or Vega XP)

CHANGING TOPICS

School starts next week and I'm frightened of the programming course they are going to make me take :( not cool. I do know how to program (though not very well), but ever since I took info tech in grade 12 and I swore to never program again...I'm beginning to think life kinda hates me...

Well I'm tired it's about 1:30 am where I am, and I have to start getting back in to my usual "Oh shit I gotta wake up before I miss my 7:27 am bus"

First blog - Some info about me

Well I've been procrastinating for far too long and now it's time for me to finally make a blog I have been intending to make for quite a while. This blog was originally intended for the sole purpose of posting up my art work, but since I'm a very VERY modest person when it comeas to art, I decided that dedicating this blog only to art would be foolish since I would probably never update it if it was. I'm going to not only post up my art (when I actually get to scanning my stuff and fixing it to look presentable) but I will also offer insight on things I find important. Like, for example, video game, movie, just things in the media that generally interest me. I may ocassionally do a rant, but it's up to you if you want to read it or not. I'm not forcing you so don't get all defensive if my opinions differ from yours. All that being said I guess i'll start with an introduction.

I guess you could call me shy.artist, but if you want to get personal you can just call me Jules.

I'm a 19 year old female GAD student.

What is this GAD student naming of names you ask?

GAD stands for Game art and design student. In short I'm learning to become a game designer; if you want to get specific, a game artist would be the most appropriate title. There is a difference, even though not many people open their minds to see it.

Anyway, being a Game design student also makes me an avid Gamer. I enjoy most game genres, but I tend to prefer the good old RPG's, FPS, Action/adventure and Puzzle/Strategies compared to sports or racing games. Don't get me wrong I will play Sports or racing games, but I probably won't be as motivated as my opponents would be to win. Strangely I have a distaste for competition. This also rules out games like WoW or Starcraft(yes I know they are kind of RPG's, but I just can't play them). I'm sure they are awesome games and enjoyable, but I have a short fuse for ignorance, and usual people who play online are rude and ignorant as a fanboy groupie who is 'L337" and "killz n00bz lolz LMAO" Understand that I have played online games before and each time I played it resulted in me wanting to break someones face cause they were being either extremely rude, or ignorant or both. Now that I have gotten that out, the bottom line is I don't play online games anymore. (I also don't care if I got the fanboy lingo wrong.)

The kind of games I enjoy are games like Final Fantasy, The legend of Zelda and Devil May cry. Any games made fron Square Enix, Nintendo or Capcom I will play them!!

Yeah so...Aren't I a little ball of sunshine! (not feeling optimistic today XP) Huzzah!!
